Dating timing events

Better reporting helps us understand page load latency. That should lead to more efficient websites and infrastructure, faster web applications, and a better experience on the web.Speed dating is a formalized matchmaking process of dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people. Its origins are credited to Rabbi Yaacov Deyo of Aish Ha Torah, originally as a way to help Jewish singles meet and marry.

This article describes the API and shows ways to make use of the timing data it exposes.

Google experiments show that a delay as small as a hundred milliseconds can have an adverse effect. The API provides a simple way to get accurate and detailed timing statistics—natively—for page navigation and load events.

Navigation Timing is a Java Script API for accurately measuring performance on the web.

We devised techniques to exploit this information: cross-calibration, in which node date calibrations are reused across a phylogeny, and cross-bracing, in which node date calibrations are formally linked in a hierarchical Bayesian model.

We apply these methods to proteins with ancient duplications that have remained associated and originated from plastid and mitochondrial endosymbionts: the α and β subunits of ATP synthase and its relatives, and the elongation factor thermo unstable.

The methods yield reductions in dating uncertainty of 14–26% while only using date calibrations derived from phylogenetically unambiguous Phanerozoic fossils of multicellular plants and animals.
