He averaged 25.2 points, 12 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2 steals, and 6 blocks per game his senior season, earning First-team All-State and First-team All-Dade honors.
He then played college basketball for the Miami Hurricanes of the University of Miami, where he was a three-year starter and finished his career averaging 11 points per game.
He was named Third-team All-Big East his junior year and Second-team Verizon Academic All-American his senior year.
Jones was a four-year letterman at American High School in Hialeah, Florida.
